​​​2017 Stonewall Brigade Schedule of Events

19-21 February: Winter Quarters at Dill's Tavern in Dillsburg, PA (closed to public). The cost for this event will be $10, payable to your company. The 5th Virginia will be providing Saturday breakfast, the 4th Virginia will be providing lunch, and the 33rd Virginia supper. The Brigade staff will provide Sunday breakfast. Any uniform from the Brigade uniform guidelines is acceptable. We will hold our annual NCO/Officer school and flea market, so please bring any gear you are looking to sell. Stonewall Brigade event.

21-23 April: Spring Camp of Instruction at Monocacy National Battlefield Park, MD. This event is hosted by the Confederate Military Forces. Company drill will be held Saturday morning followed by battalion drill in the late morning and afternoon. Additional drill will be held on Sunday. Please attempt to at least attend the Saturday drill session if at all possible. Uniform guidelines TBA. Due to NPS rules, do not bring any caps or powder. There is no fee or registration for this event. Stonewall Brigade event. 

5-7 May: Battle of McDowell in McDowell, VA. This event is hosted by the Southern Division, LLC and is a Southern Division maximum effort event. Registration is available here for $25. Additional information is available on the event website and event Facebook page. This is an May 1862 event, so please prepare an early war impression (see the event uniform guidelines). Requested uniform is Mississippi jackets with matching trousers; either kepis or slouch hats; early war canteens, knapsacks, haversacks, etc... if you own a smoothbore, this is an excellent event to use it. Any early war commutation jacket is an acceptable alternative; RDII jackets are allowed, you are encouraged to temporarily trim it for the event. Stonewall Brigade event. 

20-21 May: Living History at Jackson's Headquarters in Winchester, VA. Additional details TBA. This is a 4th Virginia-hosted event.

2-4 June: On to Richmond at Endview Plantation in Newport News, VA. This event is hosted by Rear Rank Productions and is a Southern Division maximum effort event. Registration is available here and costs $20 until 15 February, after which it increases to $25. Additional information is available on the event website and Facebook page. This is an June 1862 event, so please prepare an early war impression (see the event uniform guidelines). Requested uniform is Mississippi jackets with matching trousers; either kepis or slouch hats; early war canteens, knapsacks, haversacks, etc... if you own a smoothbore, this is an excellent event to use it. Any early war commutation jacket is an acceptable alternative; RDII jackets are allowed, you are encouraged to temporarily trim it for the event. Stonewall Brigade event.

10 June: Civil War Camp Day at Fort Ward in Alexandria, VA. Overnight camping is available for those interested. While we have been invited to this event, it is not current supported by the Brigade or a member company. If you are interested in attending, please contact event organizer Susan Cumbey (Susan.Cumbey@alexandriava.gov) to indicate your plan to attend. 

9 July: Civil War Day at the Winery at Bull Run in Centerville, VA. Event runs Sunday from 11-6. There is no fee or registration for this event. Please be onsite no later than 9:30 so that we can muster and drill prior to the public's arrival. This is an July 1861 event portraying the First Battle of Manassas, so please prepare an early war impression. Requested uniform is white linen battleshirts and grey trousers with black trim;  either kepis or slouch hats; early war canteens, knapsacks, haversacks, etc... if you own a smoothbore, this is an excellent event to use it. Mississippi jackets with matching trousers, any early war commutation jacket, or an RDII are acceptable alternatives. Anyone with Federal gear is encouraged to galvanize to balance force ratios. Stonewall Brigade event.

22-23 July: Aftermath of Manassas at Ben Lomond House in Manassas, VA. This is a medical living history portraying the period after the First Battle of Manassas. Attendance is capped at 30 people. While we have been invited to this event, it is not current supported by the Brigade or a member company. If you are interested in attending, please contact event organizer Bruce Stocking (WSHancockSoc@msn.com) to indicate your plan to attend. 

5 August: Living History at Ducard Winery in Etlan, VA. Those interested may spend Saturday night at the Winery. This is a 33rd Virginia-hosted event. 

4-6 August: Living History at Cedar Mountain Battlefield in Rapidan, VA. This event is hosted by the IVR and all Southern Division members have been invited to attend. Please see the IVR's Facebook page for additional information and contact IVR President Mike Hendricks (png3dva@cox.net) if you are interested in attending. 

12-13 August: Long March North to Gettysburg at Mt. Zion Church in Aldie, VA. Attendance is capped at 30 people. While we have been invited to this event, it is not current supported by the Brigade or a member company. If you are interested in attending, please contact event organizer Bruce Stocking (WSHancockSoc@msn.com) to indicate your plan to attend. 

15-17 September: Living history at Antietam National Battlefield, MD. This event is hosted by the CMF and all Southern Division members have been invited to attend. Please see the CMF's Facebook page for additional information and contact CMF Commander Curtis Utz (ruthutz@icloud.com) if you are interested in attending.

7-8 October: Waterford Fair in Waterford, VA. This is a bounty event, with $10 per man per day going into your company's treasury. There is no registration or fee for this event. Uniform guidelines TBA (some of us may be asked to galvanize). Further details TBA. Stonewall Brigade event.

13-15 October: ​Anniversary weekend living history at Bristoe Station Battlefield in Bristow, VA. While we have been invited to this event, it is not current supported by the Brigade or a member company. 9 December: Christmas living history at Fort Ward, Alexandria, VA. Event is held from 12-4. Please arrive no later than 11:30 to set-up. Please dress for the weather. This is a 5th Virginia-hosted event.
